LU tourism lecturer Dr Jo Fountain will be in Kaikōura next week, helping to educate farmers on how they can benefit from sharing their properties and stories with visitors. 👍🙌
The Future of Agritourism Symposium on 9 and 10 June aims to showcase the opportunities within the sector, which is growing globally as more people seek to reconnect with the land and learn where their food comes from.
The symposium is part of the Post Quake Farming Project, funded by the Ministry for Primary Industries after the 2016 Hurunui/Kaikōura/Marlborough earthquakes, to help make the area more resilient to future challenges.
Agritourism offers a great way for farmers to diversify and create supplementary income.
